A certified translator / interpreter deals with translations of official and judicial documents prepared abroad, co-operates with courts, public prosecutors, police and organs of public administration. He/She also accepts orders for translations/interpretations from private persons.

A certified translator/interpreter is entitled to:

• prepare and certify translations from a foreign language into Polish as well as from a foreign language into a foreign language and also to check and certify such translations prepared by other persons;
• prepare certified copies of documents in a foreign language, check and certify copies of documents in a given language prepared by other persons;
• make certified interpretation (e.g. of notarial acts, board meetings, etc).
