What is an uncertified translation?

It is a translation of texts submitted or pointed by the Client, in any written form. Such a translation is not a document and can be returned to the Client in any form (hard copy, electronic, CD, etc.). To have a correctly translated text, right from the start the Client must submit a complete text to the translator. The translation is equal to the content of the original text, but is not a literal translation (so called "word for word"), but it must convey the meaning of the source material faithfully (also in keeping with the character of the text, e.g. formal, colloquial, vulgar, aggressive). The translator cannot "produce a new text" by adding new contents and meanings not included in the original text.

How the price of the translation is calculated?

The cost of a translation is calculated on the basis of a so called calculation page, which contains 1600 characters including spaces. A character is any visible print (letters, punctuation marks, numbers, etc.) and necessary spaces. Estimation of characters in the translation, and thus the number of calculation pages before and even during the translation is very difficult, if the text is submitted in a different format than a Word document and can be done only with rough approximation. The final number of characters and pages is known only when the translation is completed and this number is taken for final price the Client has to pay. The translations are done in MSWord, which gives precise number of characters (text fields are added separately). The charge is for the total number of pages of translation rounded to half a page (except for the first page of translation which is always taken as full page).

Can a MS PowerPoint presentation be translated?

Translating a presentation is different from translating texts. When ordering a translation of a presentation it is recommended to supply the translator with additional source materials, so the translation conveys the intentions of the author of the presentation in the best way. Such translation is charged on the basis of the number of slides. The price of one slide is equal to the price of 1/2 of the price of one page of translation (1600 characters).
